Hill & White L.L.C. The owners of the firm are lifelong residents of Decatur, Illinois and both graduated from Millikin University. In 1987, Thomas W. Hill, CPA, CVA, resigned his interest in a national firm to begin his own practice in Decatur, Illinois. Mr. Hill began his professional career in 1967 with Murphey, Jenne & Jones, a public accounting firm with offices in Central Illinois. He later became a partner in the firm. The firm eventually merged into a national firm. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Mr. Hill also is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and performs several business valuations each year. In this capacity, Mr. Hill has served as an expert witness and has 19 years of experience testifying in court. In 1990, David W. White, CPA, began his public accounting career with Tom, and in 2001 they formed the firm of Hill & White L.L.C. In addition to his duties as a CPA, Mr. White consults clients that use Peachtree and Quickbooks computerized accounting systems.
